hate to dunk on an account I like, but it must be said:
Deep down, Indians believe in the world of words, rather than the world of things.
They think that politics is about make the best arguments and holding the best beliefs.
That diplomacy is about “strongly condemning” things and “giving fitting replies”.
That a wignat saying “Indians are smelly” is worse than careful and methodological subversion by liberals.
That the point of American accusations against Adani or Modi is to convince the Indian public.
They live in the world of kayfabe, rather than understanding the levers that truly move the world.
To put it concretely: the point is not to convince Indians (though to an extent they’ve done even that) — nor even Adani’s interests specifically.
Rather to set incentives. For an Indian corporation to succeed, it must be loyal to the Liberal Raj.

Many Indians think the point of politics is saying things. Choosing the right ideology Having the exact pure beliefs Issuing stroonggg condemnations “Criticizing when something is wrong”
In reality it’s actually getting things done which takes the most effort, even in politics.
